You isn't equal. D:

Personally I think someone should listen to almost all the critique that is given to them.

There seems to be this viewpoint that only people better than you have the right to open their mouths and critique you. But this isn’t true. There is always someone out there better than you, that includes the “gods” critiquing you and if you look back on a majority of their art that you thought was boss, you’ll realize that they even had flaws with their style and execution.

Anyways, someone berated another person on an image by a well known artist saying the person didn’t no squat because he couldn’t draw. The person was making statements about the character’s anatomy and how a majority of it was off and wasn’t even accurate in a stylized since, this person of course was drawing some Naruto fanart something or other so he was berated like a Jew at a concentration camp.

But little did these people know that he was a doctor, now – he may not draw, but he sure as hell knows, and knew, his anatomical proportions and explained in detail why the character’s anatomy wouldn’t work.

He wasn’t mean about it, he was just critiquing the piece and the artist even stated that he wanted to become better at realistic cartoon characters (you know… FF crap of the like).

Just because someone can’t draw doesn’t mean their opinion is less valid, they can see you know, and may be the best at spotting things others miss.

Yeaa… deviantart you never  bore me. NEVAR.

Rewrite your comics damnit.

I’ve been reading some of the web comics on Deviantart, and I found out something rather interesting. A majority of people complained that their stories seemed lacking, or incoherent. Some didn’t acknowledge this but where upset when other deviants did and even berated them calling said people. “jealous.”

Now, what was more funny was that the some of the people who critiqued the comic had 10x the caliber of the person dissing them and some even worked for professional animation and comic studios. Now they may be just the artist behind the story, but even they work with the writers… so I’m pretty sure they know a lot more than you do.

Here is my suggestion. White your story down, and don’t stick with what comes to mind first, even 1 hour stories that have been used for movies and tv shows go through hundreds of revisions. Take me for example, I’ve had to rewrite the first 3 issues of my comic 6 times, redesign the characters 5 times, and even rewrite their personas.

Is my story the best thing out there? Probably not, but is it decent and at least coherent, not jumping from character to character and plot to plot with out that tying in with previous acts somehow? Yes… having a better flow, even if the story isn’t’ the most moving unique thing out there, could make it 10x better and worth the read, just because people can see the care put into it.

Pitbulls = love.

MMMmmm… a serious non devart related debate. :O

Pit-bulls. My mother hates them to no end. She thinks that they’re all killers and need to become extinct.

I have to disagree. All dogs are here because they where breed for a specific purpose. A good example of a dog that was once similar to the Pit-bull is the bulldog. Bulldogs where once breed for a sport called Bull bating. Where the dog was, of course, supposed to attack the bull and take them down. Now the bulldogs of the day looked a lot like Pitbulls. Huge frame, large squat head, and strong shoulders. They also had the same ferocity.

Both breeds had to be strong, willing, and vicious for their purpose, which was to bait bulls. Now bulldogs have change drastically since then and are now sweet, tame, housepets. No longer the ferocious killer they once where.

One way to take out the ferocity is to breed the tame ones and let the aggressive and more independent dogs die out. There may be some anatomical changes with the process as certain habits and personalities are linked with certain physical genes (i.e. silver foxes).

But yea, I love them – and think that they’re not at fault, but the breeders.

Damn breeders.

...

Don't be a spoiled sport! :>

Ok.. so all you guys know about the popular art section on deviantart changing and all the hallaballo that was up about it.

One of the major complaints about it was that now crappy art is going to be shown instead of the “good art.”

By “good” do you mean fanart comics and fanart slashing and just fanart in general? Of oooooh – idk Avatar, Naruto, Death Note, Kingdom Hearts ect? Is that it? Huh? Because half of the art is crap… you heard me! Craaaaaaap – and why? Because a lot of it is the same generic styled art that almost anyone can do. There are a lot of people that have real talent. But a majority wouldn’t even make it past the normal status quo if they drew original characters in their style. Btw, I doubt that majority of people would even know about or LIKE the artist if they did something else.

People here are complaining about their being crappy uploads like photos and screencaps that are going to be filtered in. While this may be true, I think that every deviant, or at least the sem-good ones should be given a chance for fair exposure. And hey… there may be a shining new gem that you didn’t even know EXISTED if it weren’t for the new system.

Overall, people need to stfu and stop complaining that ramy, amuria, joodlez, justflyakite, or who ever the hell else you worship didn’t make it on the popular page FOR ONCE in their lives. They’ve got thousands of watchers, and the faves you give them is exposure enough. I’m pretty sure that 5,000 faves is enough advertising if you ask me.

Homeless Teens - wtf?

I was watching a special on MNBC about kids in Oregon or somewhere, that where homeless. I’ve seen this special before and you know what?  I could care less about a majority of them.

One of them was due for a baby and stated she didn’t want social services taking it away because “I don’t want it to look at me and tell me to get a job…” or “I don’t want to become a sheep to society and he shouldn’t be one either.”

Hah – HAHAHA. Do any of these good for nothing freeloaders realize that w/o us “sheep” they would have no one to panhandle for their next fix or food?

Now I care for the ones that where abused, forgotten, or from foster homes. They’ve had fucked up lives. But the main ones complaining where from loving, caring, middle or upper middle class homes.

We shouldn’t be wasting out taxes on these lazy good for nothing trivial bums… YET we have to…

If you’re trying to get a job, that’s one thing. Even if you’re not doing tell ALL of America what a majority of you think or do. I won’t give you crap. And shouldn’t even be expected to.

Can't Take Critique.

Someone pointed out that some of my comments where removed from a deviant's comment area, want to know why? Well I personally don't know either.

The comments where I praised the person for their works was left. But when talking to the person about the context of subject matter and execution of their vision, those where hidden.

I thought this hilarious since I wasn't even really harsh; I was just asking a question or making a statement.

Now! To make a point.

Are you that insecure about yourself to hide every comment that someone makes that doesn't agree with your viewpoint? It's understandable if someone is flaming you personally or your work without sound basis. But does it really bug you to the point that you must remove comments like - "Well the art is good, but the characters need a liiitle more development, but overall amazing work!" Or even asking why something is because it seems pasted into a piece of work for no real significant reason?

I've gotten hate mail, comments, and a flame war or two. But I rarely hide messages.

This has gotten many good comments, and critical ones. I've been critiqued on my portrayal of the characters as well as Double D's dreads. But all of them where good critiques and understandable. I've even had one that described them as disgusting and out of character. But you know what? That's his opinion, and as blunt as it was, it didn't bother me. I can see why he thinks that because, heck, Double D does look like a junkie.

Anyways, maybe it's just me. But people are too critical.

I know I've stated this a billion times, but it's just something that makes me lulz to know end.

Sonic Gettin' Blue

After watching the ending of the 2006 Sonic the Hedehog, I must say Sonic seemed more blue in certain scenes when chattin' it up with Elise. ;)

http://youtube.com/watch?v=yNQqniMyHBg

I smell a comic series.

Seriously, for some reason this bothers me. I'm not sure if it because  it would be bestiality or the fact that they kissed. I mean I'm used to Roger Rabbit and his wife, but I can't see Sonic with a realistic human.

Btw, the animation in that game is beautiful. If there was a movie on Sonic I would totally go see it, as long as it had good directors because Sega sucks at almost anything they do it seems. They have, a tendency to break things that where good the way they where. But that's just my opinion.

A lot of people think I hate Sonic, I don't - I love him to no end. I just hate the fandoms.

Random/Rant.

Fantards

1. Fantards = http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/7/7c/Vani_crits.jpg
I thought this was interesting beyond belief. Seriously, Maki did nothing wrong, NOTHING. I'm a huge fan of some people on here, but I don't bow down and kiss their arse. Lily-fox for example, I love her stuff to no end. But when she does something I disagree with I make a point to note it and agree with the "enemy." An incident like this occurred recently now that I think about it. She was upset over a comment on an image she received and went a little insane. I calmly stated “ – Although I do think it was slightly immature of her to rant about this critique, I can see why she would have been upset because of the obscure wording. But to act in this way is uncalled for, especially if the person wasn’t intentionally trying to flame you. But we all go a little overboard at times, I just think she needs to watch it a little. ;) “

I see ass-kissers all the time. And a majority of their actions prove that they have no true sound opinion and are more than likely ignorant beings for agreeing 100% with their favorite artist with out considering the opposing side's argument.

when I become famous (not being a jerk, just optimistic) I hope to god I don't have to deal with this kind of drama. As much as I'd love the support, I would never want thoughtless souls to defend me. xD

White Pride and Freedom of Speech

I was watching the program American Gangster on the History Channel oneday and the topic of the episode was Skinheads and White Pride.

For those of you who don’t know – both groups have Neo-Nazi and KKK themes embedded in them. Some versions of White Pride promote recognizing the blue-collar industry, a sect or position most white immigrants faced when coming into the early Americas and still recognizing those roots in places like Ireland, England, and other sections of Europe. Actually that is how the movement came to be from what I recall. And the typical wear that represented Blue collar industries where –

1.White T = cheap and affordable
2. Suspenders = something common coal miners, farmers, ect. Wore and still do.
3. Steel Toe Boots = heavy steel boots meant to protect the feet from sweatshop machinery and other dangerous items.
4. Shaved Head = prevented hair from becoming caught in machines.

Now this is good and all, since it was used as recognition of their roots and nationalities – but there is a dark side.

It has since then transformed into something far worse and deadly as Americans as a whole.

Both groups have been found with damning propaganda that promotes physical violence towards any person that isn’t pure white or straight and any white person that protects either or. Although this is protected by the 1st Amendment since is doesn’t directly promote murder through forced justifications and is just one’s own thought strewn together through an image – they get away with it.

Now I know there are certain aspects of words, thoughts, and actions that should be protected through the Amendments – but should this really be allowed? Hate crimes against people that, although may be stereotypical in some since – most are good upstanding citizens?

The images do promote violence and so do the people that are said groups. If you’re part of the gang and don’t partake in harming or killing your enemy then you yourself are subjected to the same punishment that you wouldn’t commit in most cases. Isn’t that a form of forced cause upon an individual and shouldn’t these acts be considered more heinous than what is normally carried out?

In other cases the images show Mexican’s heads on steaks, Blacks getting their brains shot out. Homosexuals with a Nazi flag in their anus, so on and so forth. Tell me this isn’t promoting unneeded physical harm to people and suggesting, even deeper than that – killing them? After all they state, “… We’re the superior race and a dying one at that. We need to take back our countries and homes and lives from black, Jews, ect…”

You put the words with the image and you yourself are telling people to do things, it is practically an order you have given and people follow through – so shouldn’t these people who have done these crimes be put behind bars for life when innocent people are murdered at their hands? Some have been convicted -  especially those who committed the crime, but never the maker of the work.
